"Our mission is to honor and support veterans by providing safe and affordable housing solutions. By partnering with trusted, experienced service providers, we combine high-quality housing with the professional care and support veterans need to succeed. We believe every veteran deserves not only a dignified place to call home, but the opportunity to rebuild, grow, and thrive in their community.”
The Martin Escalante Foundation was founded in honor of Martin Escalante Ortiz, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who lived to be 100 years old. During his distinguished service, he was awarded a Purple Heart, five Bronze Stars, and three Overseas Service Bars. Until his passing in 2025, Martin remained an active and respected member of the veteran community. The foundation was created to continue his legacy and ensure that the values he lived by endure. Founded in his honor, the Martin Escalante Foundation is dedicated to continuing his lifelong commitment to supporting veterans and their families, inspired by his belief in family, service, community, and dignity for all who served.

The Martin Escalante Foundation offers Emergency, Transitional, and Permanent Housing Solutions tailored to veterans facing homelessness, housing instability, or major life changes after military service. Our homes align with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) housing initiatives such as HUD-VASH, SSVF, and GPD, ensuring that eligible veterans can access the full range of supportive services and rental assistance available to them. By working closely with VA case managers and community partners, we help veterans, and their families secure stable housing while addressing underlying needs such as mental health, employment, and reintegration support. Our goal is to not only house veterans—but to empower them to rebuild their lives with dignity, security, and long-term independence.

Your support ensures that no veteran is left behind—because housing isn’t just a roof, it’s a first step toward reconnecting with family, accessing VA benefits, finding employment, and regaining dignity and independence. When you donate, you’re not just giving to a cause—you’re standing up for those who stood for us.
While federal programs like HUD-VASH provide essential housing support, they don’t cover the full cost of transforming lives. That’s where your donations help fill the critical gaps. Government funds rarely cover the full cost of home repairs, accessibility upgrades, or code compliance. Your support helps us make properties safe, livable, and inspection approved.
Many veterans need housing before their benefits or vouchers are approved. All donations are tax deductible, and your contribution allows us to say yes in the moment that matters most.
Help provide the everyday necessities that make a veteran feel safe, respected, and cared for. This includes items such as toiletries, towels, and hygiene kits .
Help cover one night in a transitional shelter or emergency housing—giving a veteran a warm, safe place to sleep instead of the street. A $50 donation helps prepare a bed for a veteran moving into transitional housing. This helps cover new pillows, sheets, and blankets.
Help cover small furniture needs, and replacement cookware or dishes. Your gift helps a veteran move in with dignity — everything they need on day one.
Make a deeper impact — larger contributions have the power to accelerate impact, change trajectories, and transform lives at scale.
When it comes to helping veterans, every dollar counts—especially when pooled with others. Even when you donate $1, a custom gift builds more than homes—it builds hope, healing, and a future. Whether you’re an individual donor, foundation, or corporation, your investment helps us provide a safe place to call home—and a real chance to rebuild, creating real, measurable change for veterans.

We connect experienced service providers to help veterans with everything from job training to mental health counseling. Our team of experts is dedicated to helping veterans succeed, and we work closely with each individual to develop a personalized plan.

Veteran housing solutions depend on donors, volunteers, property owners, and partnerships. Whether it’s funding a bed or donating a property—everyone can play a role in supporting veteran housing.
